Grant Magness

Chief Executive Officer

Grant Magness serves as CEO of TOPS Surgical Specialty Hospital providing leadership and strategic direction while executing the vision of the facility. Prior to TOPS, he worked as the regional administrator for United Surgical Partners International (USPI)’s Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Greater Heights and Memorial Hermann Endoscopy Center North Loop in Houston. He also served as administrator for USPI’s Memorial Hermann Texas International Endoscopy Center, where he led the facility through a key transition from a single specialty to a multi-specialty surgical center with the addition of both new service lines and physicians.

Prior to joining USPI, Grant served in multiple roles with Community Health Systems (CHS) – most recently, as assistant administrator with Brownwood Regional Medical Center in Brownwood, TX. In that role, Grant provided operational leadership and focused on service line developments. During his time with CHS, Grant also held the position of Interim CEO with Toppenish Community Hospital in Toppenish, WA, and Administrative Specialist with Tomball Regional Medical Center in Tomball, TX.

Grant is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He currently chairs the Trinity University Healthcare Administration Department’s Financial Campaign Committee and is a Board Member of the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, Grant has previously served on multiple other organizational committees, including THA’s Leadership Development Council, Brownwood Chamber Total Resource Campaign Committee, and Brown County United Way Board. Through his commitment and engagement, while living in Brownwood, TX, Grant was honored as the 2016 Volunteer of the Year for the city.

He holds a Master’s of Science degree in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Finance and Economics from Baylor University. Sic’em Bears!

In his free time, Grant enjoys spending time with his wife, Rebecca, one-year-old son, Walker, and two dogs, Ranger & River. They enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors, and attending sporting events, specifically Baylor football games. Lastly, Grant is a BBQ enthusiast by visiting 44 of Texas’s Top 50 BBQ joints and is trying to perfect his meat-smoking craft. Grant and Rebecca currently attend Grace Bible Church in Houston.
